Project Details
This accessory building and ADU designed by Birdsmouth Design Build started construction in March 2026 and should be complete by the end of the year. This approx. 1,400 sqft building will have a 600 sqft ADU above a garage and utility room. This will be a certified Phius Zero Passive House project with a focus on resilience. The building will include low embodied carbon materials and its low operational energy needs will be offset with solar and battery storage. It should be able to withstand cold snaps, heat domes, smoke events, seismic events, water disruptions and power outages while providing the occupants a comfortable and safe interior with extremely high indoor air quality. The site will include rainwater storage, gardens and edibles along with a natural landscape that will attract pollinators and other native species.
